Since launching our term trainings in 2022, we have delivered a number of great courses and met many new and existing improvisors with term trainings and guest tutors. It's been wonderful to have our regular Monday nights at Thistle Hall and we are so grateful for everyone who joined us!
In 2024, our lead teacher and administrator Jennifer O'Sullivan will be on maternity leave, which means we need to take a brief hiatus from our regular 8 week courses. In their place we're making space for a range of short and one-off workshop opportunities, and are interested in pitches from local and visiting teachers who'd like support to deliver improv theatre training to Pōneke.
Our standard offer for confirmed workshops is $50 per teaching hour, with workshop fees for students set according to venue costs, class size, and admin needs. We are open to negotiation but aim to keep teachers paid appropriately and workshop fees affordable, as well as providing opportunities for low income and marginalised students. We are flexible on dates and times (subject to venue availability as we will not have our regular Monday booking at Thistle Hall).
If you have something you think would make for a great workshop or short course (1-4 workshops or a weekend intensive, for example) we'd love to hear from you, and have created a brief submission form for this. We'd love to hear from you by the end of November for anything proposed in the first half of the year, and will leave it open for pitches for the remainder of 2024 (or until we can't accommodate anything further).
If you have questions before making a pitch, please contact hello@locomotive.nz
Ngā mihi nui!
